The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse is working
to stem the tide
of TBI (traumatic
brain injury) occurrences.
TBI occurs on average
once every 22 seconds
in the United States.
That equates to
1.5 million injuries
annually nationwide.

The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse can help
any or all of this
group which are
all susceptible
to TBI: mothers,
fathers, sisters,
brothers, uncles,
aunts, grandparents,
cousins, nephews,
nieces, grandchildren,
other relatives,
friends, and you
yourself.

The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse is making
the community aware
that TBI can occur
during the following
events: moving motorized
and non-motorized
vehicle accidents,
sporting activities,
falls, abuse, strokes,
and aneurysms.
7
The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse is one
of only a handful
that resulted from
a 1998 National
Institutes of Health
recommendation that
all communities
in the U.S. have
brain injury clubhouses.
6
The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse has existed
for a decade as
a "grassroots" organization
that has received
minimal funding.
Despite TBI being
at near-epidemic
proportions, The
Ballinger TBI Clubhouse
proudly provides
support for TBI
survivors and their
caregivers.
5
The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse currently
reaches 200-plus
local TBI survivors
and their caregivers
with a monthly newsletter.
4
The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse provides
weekly and monthly
support meetings
and other community-based
activities to aid
in decreasing the
isolation and personal
frustration that
often accompany
TBI.
3
The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse makes
attending the Brain
Injury Association
of Ohio (BIAOA)
an organizational
priority by paying
for accommodations
for 30 to 50 brain
injury survivors
and 20 to 30 caregivers
and supporters at
BIAOA's annual 3-day
conference.
2
The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse acquired
501(c)(3) status from
the federal government.
Donations to The
Ballinger TBI Clubhouse
are usually considered
tax-deductible.
1
The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse began
its quest many years
ago. With the help
and support of the
community, it will
continue to provide
help for families
that have been affected
by TBI for years
to come.
