Top 10 Reasons Why We Need your Support

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse is working to stem the tide of TBI (traumatic brain injury) occurrences. TBI occurs on average once every 22 seconds in the United States. That equates to 1.5 million injuries annually nationwide.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse can help any or all of this group which are all susceptible to TBI: mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, other relatives, friends, and you yourself.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse is making the community aware that TBI can occur during the following events: moving motorized and non-motorized vehicle accidents, sporting activities, falls, abuse, strokes, and aneurysms.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse is one of only a handful that resulted from a 1998 National Institutes of Health recommendation that all communities in the U.S. have brain injury clubhouses.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse has existed for a decade as a "grassroots" organization that has received minimal funding. Despite TBI being at near-epidemic proportions, The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse proudly provides support for TBI survivors and their caregivers.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse currently reaches 200-plus local TBI survivors and their caregivers with a monthly newsletter.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse provides weekly and monthly support meetings and other community-based activities to aid in decreasing the isolation and personal frustration that often accompany TBI.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse makes attending the Brain Injury Association of Ohio (BIAOA) an organizational priority by paying for accommodations for 30 to 50 brain injury survivors and 20 to 30 caregivers and supporters at BIAOA's annual 3-day conference.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse acquired 501(c)(3) status from the federal government. Donations to The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse are usually considered tax-deductible.

The Ballinger TBI Clubhouse began its quest many years ago. With the help and support of the community, it will continue to provide help for families that have been affected by TBI for years to come.
