BIAOH Conference in
Columbus, OHIO
October 14, 2004
by Dawna Tenney
Twenty eight members of the
Ballinger Clubhouse traveled to Columbus with
high expectations for this year’s BIAOH annual
conference. They were not disappointed as the
conference was rich with informative,
interesting and helpful exhibitors, and featured
a very down to earth keynote speaker, Kara
Swanson, author of I’ll Carry the Fork. As a
survivor herself, Kara spoke of things to which
each of us could relate. Her words touched
survivors, family, and friends alike. The group
also had the chance to enjoy a few group events,
including a fun pizza party by the pool.—Lynn

This was the best conference I
attended! I think what made it most special was
all the time we spent together as a group. It
was a good time of sharing and drawing closer to
each other. Kara Swanson was an excellent
speaker, and I found many of the seminars very
useful. Two of the seminar speakers were
speakers who originally spoke at our monthly
support group meetings, Dr. Roswell Dorsett and
Laura Hazen. We were happy to see them there.
