Report
on the Akron Aeros Ballgame
August 4,
2004
by
Chuck Wagner
For many
years, The Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse had attended
an Akron Aeros baseball
game. This year, the
evening was extra
special, thanks to the
loge accommodations
provided by Bridgestone
Firestone and to
the thrilling game
provided by the Akron
Aeros Baseball
Organization, both first
class in their own
right. Extra seating for
our group was donated by
the Akron Aeros Baseball
Organization, as well.
The
baseball game itself was
so exciting, right to
the last play at home
plate that won the game
for the Aeros. We were
fortunate that the
evening’s weather was
tremendous, although,
had it not been so, our
indoor seating would
have provided an equally
tremendous observation
point. All our
attending members
especially appreciated
the accessibility
throughout the loge.
Everywhere we went in
the stadium, the staff
was courteous, helpful,
and eager to address all
our needs. Those of us
fortunate to occupy loge
suite 203 were admirably
served by a courteous
and efficient Aeros
staff member named Mary.
The food and beverages
provided by
Bridgestone-Firestone
and Ken Buehrle were a
welcome surprise and
much appreciated as
well. The after-the-game
fireworks had us ooh-ing
and aah-ing during the
entire display, thanks
to our wonderful loge's
outdoor seats. Ken and
Pam Buehrle were the
perfect host and hostess
for us that evening, as
well.
Every
one of our members who
attended said how much
the evening meant to
them. All in all, The
Ballinger TBI Clubhouse
appreciates
Bridgestone-Firestone
and the Akron Aeros
Baseball Organization
for providing us with an
evening that we truly
can never forget.
All our lucky traumatic
brain injury survivors
and their caregivers who
attended the August 19th
Akron Aeros baseball
game send
Bridgestone-Firestone
and the Akron Aeros
Baseball
Organization a heartfelt
"Thank you" for a
splendid evening!
