Trip
to Inventure Place

The Inventor’s
Hall of Fame in downtown
Akron is quite an interesting
as well as educational place
to visit. We went to a floor
with miniature models of
several inventions. The
inventors were supposed
to submit small scale working
models of their inventions
to the government agency
in charge of granting patents.
Because of the large number
of applications and insufficient
storage space for all the
models, it was decided that
sketches or diagrams of
the inventions be submitted
instead. There were posters
of each inventor on the
wall, along with the item
they invented. We saw a
poster of Walt Disney, who
is responsible for many
of today’s innovations in
animation before the advent
of computer or digital animation.
We also saw a poster of
Thomas Alva Edison, who
developed so many techniques
used in electrical management.
The best part was the bottom
floor, where there was a
lot of hands on, experiencing
the fun of creating things
using blocks, wheels, plastic
rods and connectors.
All together,
it was a terrific place
to visit, fun and educational!
I highly recommend a return
visit.
