A Clubhouse Location Has
Been Found!
May 2004
At last, we are happy to
announce that a location for the Ballinger TBI
Clubhouse has been selected! The location is
Summit Terraces, 697 E. Waterloo Rd., Akron,
Ohio, 44306. The building is owned by the
Community Health Center, lead by Mr. Theodore
Ziegler, CEO. We will be leasing the Community
Room, which includes a common area, kitchen,
office and storage space, and courtyard. In the
selection process, it was important to find a
building that is universally (handicap)
accessible and on a bus line. We are finalizing
the details, and working on raising the
necessary funds to open the clubhouse in the
Fall of this year.
Having a location of our own
will allow us to achieve our mission of
strengthening individuals affected by traumatic
brain injury by enabling them to experience
decreased isolation and increased personal
growth.
This building will enable us to
quickly develop many of our proposed programs.
The Kitchen Unit will offer lunches to our
members. The courtyard will be used for our
Horticulture Unit. Further, we are planning on
having a couple of computers available to be
used in our Business Unit and for our Computer
Learning Center. For a complete listing of all
our proposed programs, please visit our
website.
This is extremely exciting for
all of us, but we also realize it will take a
lot of hard work to make it happen. Start
thinking about how you can become a part of this
wonderful endeavor, and contact us.
