Successful Grand Opening!!!

April 30, 2005

Director, Betty Bacalu and the Board of Directors of BCH would like to thank all the people who worked very hard to get the Ballinger TBI Clubhouse opened. After two years, it finally happened! A great debt of gratitude to Ted Zielger, CEO of the Community Health Center, Akron.  Because of you we have the space we are in today! We also thank you for the partnership that has developed with CHC. As a result, our dream has come true! Also many thanks to Chrissy Lockhart for helping us with public relation details, and even a radio interview! Thanks to Michele Colopy who helped with transitioning us into the clubhouse. The kindheartedness from CHC is overwhelming.

Further appreciation to the Law Firm of Amer Cunningham, and especially to attorney Dan Silfani who made our 501(c)(3) non-profit status a reality!

A very special thank you to more fine people: Dr. DeAnna Frye, Dr. Roberta DePompei, Tom and Marcia DuFore, Roger and Cindy Peck, Diane Kuipers (floral mural artist), and the entire Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, Bible study group. Recognition for Scott Bodnar, Eric Rumley, Mike Massey, and David Taylor, who came from the "Warriors of David" Bible study group, and did all the painting.  Great job, thanks guys!

There are many more people who played key roles in the past two years we have been working toward this goal: The TBI Collaborative, JoAnn Boggs and Lori Hanson from Hanson House TBI Clubhouse in Berea, and Jennifer Bentley. Much appreciation for your advice, input and support.  If we forgot to name you, it does not mean you are forgotten, it simply means we are suffering from short term memory loss! Please forgive us. We love and thank all of you for your part in this endeavor!

We now look forward to serving the TBI community in Summit County and surrounding areas! The Clubhouse is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 10 AM to 3 PM.
