Chaplain's Corner

December 2004

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:21

Jesus came to us as a little baby, helpless and dependent upon others for his every need. Yet, he is also the Savior of the world!

I don’t know about you, but I often need to remember that God is in ultimate control of all things.

Sometimes when life doesn’t go my way when I think it should, I grow angry and complaining, impatient for some sort of positive change...

Then I am brought back to these words foretelling the birth of Jesus Christ written 600 years before he was born.

The Prophet Isaiah writes:

The people in darkness have seen a great light:

On those living in the land of the shadow of death

A light has dawned.

For unto us a child is born,

To us a son is given,

And the government will be upon his shoulders.

And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.

This Christmas season and throughout the year I pray that Jesus Christ, the wonderful Counselor, will fill your hearts with joy.

May His peace rest on you. Blessings to you this Christmas Season!

May the Light of the World shine in your heart this Christmas Season, bringing you true joy and happiness lasting forever and not just for a season. Jesus is the Reason for this Season!
